Bio

Jean-Pierre Haeck was born in Belgium. He commenced his music studies in Verviers and continued them at the Music Conservatory of Liège where he won many distinctions as an orchestral conductor as well as a performer on percussion, trombone and tuba.

From 1988 to 1990 he was a trombonist in the Belgian Radio-Television Orchestra and then in 1994 he became the assistant conductor for Maestro Pleyel at the Opera of Wallonia. The repertoire at Wallonia included Norma, Tannhäuser, Aïda, Nabucco, Traviata, Falstaff, Turandot and Madam Butterfly...

He was later to become the conductor of the Wallonia Opera for productions such as La Favorite, Manon, Pomme d’Api, La Vie Parisienne, Chantons sous la pluie, Les Mousquetaires au Couvent, La Périchole, La fille de Madame Angot, Les Trois Valses, Dialogues des Carmélites, I Masnadier and others.

Jean-Pierre Haeck has also been guest conductor of The Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, The National Orchestra of Belgium, The Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia and the Belgian Guides.

From 2002 to 2006 Jean-Pierre Haeck was designated as the first guest conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège with which he recorded Freyhir by d’ E. Mathieu, The Symphony in G Minor by E. Lalo, The Cantata Comala by J. Jongen.

In addition he has recorded a CD dedicated to pieces by S. Dupuis and another with the complete works for horn and orchestra by W. A. Mozart. The following are some of the other highlights in the career of Jean-Pierre Haeck: La Veuve Joyeuse and Faust with theOpera of Wallonia, Offenbach in Paris with the Concerts Pasdeloup, Carmen with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, Mon Bel Inconnu with the Opera at Rennes and with the Orchestra from Lorraine, Lakme in Ghent. This season he went on tour in Russia with the Rouen Opera Orchestra (France) with an Offenbach programme.
