633 Squadron is a 1964 British film, which depicts the exploits of a fictional World War II British fighter-bomber squadron . The plot was based on a novel of the same name by Frederick E. Smith, published in 1956, which itself drew on several real Royal Air Force operations. 633 Squadron was the first aviation film to be shot in colour and Panavision widescreen.

The film revolves around the craze of early aviation. Based on a screenplay entitled Flying Crazy, the fictional account is set in 1910, when Lord Rawnsley, an English press magnate, offers £10,000 (equivalent to £940,000 in 2016) to the winner of the Daily Postair race from London to Paris, to prove that Britain is "number one in the air".
