In 1977 Mitchell sings "La dernière séance". With this song he wants to pay a tribute to both the american cinema of his childhood and the little movie theatres that tend to disappear.

On the threshold of the 80th, Mitchell celebrates his 20 years of career. On his album Happy Birthday figures the song Couleur Menthe à l’eau, a nostalgic ballade telling the story of a prostitute that dreams of being a Hollywood star.

Pas de Boogie Woogie is a minor anticlerical satire in which Mitchell plays the role of a priest, who has to announce to his parishioners what the pope said about the act of love : « the act of love, without marriage, is a sin ! ». But how can he announce this and when ? God himself gives him the answer.
